Waterproof??

Why stay on the dry land when you hopefully can stay dry on an island in the fjord?? All ponies are enjoying life in the dry stables.

Viscountess Sold and Menai Silver Miss Music Arrived

Viscountess has also moved to a new home with the Lindberg Family on the island Zealand. At the same time Menai Silver Miss Music arrived to become a future broodmare. We should reduce the number of ponies, but who can say no to a mare we have admired for some time? She is graded in 1st class and have produced some nice stock. See her pedigree and show results in her webpage. We wish Cecilie all the best with Viscountess, and we hope to see them in ridden competitions in the future.

Jackpot Arrived at His New Home

Having spend the Summer with his friend Clausholm Viking it was time to departure to his new home at the Dahlsminde Stud in the southern part of Denmark. He seem to enjoy his new place playing with the foals. We wish the Dahlsminde Stud every success with Jackpot in the future. Photos taken by the Dahlsminde Stud.

Before and after going to the Fayre Oaks Sale a few studs were visited in the south western part of England and south and western part of Wales. The sun was shining every day, and it was a real pleasure to go around. Very nice ponies were seen at all studs and above you will find a photo taken at each stud as well as a few photos of the picturesque scenery.

Foal and Youngstock Show

Clausholm Sky Maxima (Foto: Charlotte Jensen)

This weekend we joined the last show of the year being the Foal and Youngstock Show in Nr. Snede. We chose to show the welsh mountain filly foal Clausholm Sky Maxima by Dukeshill Magnum out of Clausholm Skylight. John James of the Sianwood Stud placed her 6th in a large class of filly foals.

National Dutch Female Show

In 2002 and 2003 our Telynau Souza was leased to Holland by the Ysselvleidt Stud. He covered quite a few mares. Previously, we have seen a few colts at the National Colt Inspection in February, and now the fillies have been to the regional grading shows where they can qualify for the National Female Show. Four fillies joined the regional shows being graded in 1st class and two qualified for the National Show in Kootwijk. Fulnahos Angela and Boterdieps Nathalie was placed 2nd and 3rd at the National Show and was furthermore awarded the special award "ster".

Warmwell Safran Sold

Just after the RIKS our sec.B broodmare Warmwell Safran took off to her new home on the island Zealand to become a foundation mare for a new stud as well as riding pony. A bit sad to see her leave as she have been at the stud for nearly 10 years leaving two daughters Clausholm Saphira by Telynau Souza and Clausholm Scilla by Rhydspence Squire to carry on the line. Safran is covered by Clausholm Lord Joker, and we are looking much forward seeing this foal as this will be the first and only next year by Lord Joker. We wish the Riff family all the best with her.

Success at RIKS - National Swedish Show

The weekend after the Danish National Show we took off to the RIKS in Sweden which also could be named Scandinavian Open as that is the place for welsh pony breeders in Scandinavia to meet. Again this year a very well organised show with a bit of sunshine and showers. We brought the welsh mountain mare Clausholm Duchess and her filly foal Clausholm Holly Dolly. Both did a good job in the ring and Mr Bigley of the Llanarth Stud awarded Duchess with a 3rd prize and gold for the quality and Holly Dolly with a 1st prize and gold for the quality. Holly Dolly was then qualified for the title Best Foal of all sections where she showed off to be awarded the title Reserve Best Foal of all sections by Mr Bigley and Mr Davies of the Hywi Stud. Success at National Show

Clausholm Lady Jasmin (photo: Leena Kahisaari)

Clausholm Lady Jacqueline (photo: Leena Kahisaari)

This year the National Show was held quite close to the stud - only 150 km away! We entered four ponies, but due to problems with a power plug to the lorry we only arrived with two ponies. Anyway, these two homebred welsh ponies did very well under the judges Mrs Williams of the Glebedale Stud and Mr Davies of the Hywi Stud. Both joined the Grading show Saturday. Clasholm Lady Jasmin, the first to be graded by Rhydspence Squire, was first in the ring with the other 3-year old sec.Bs. She was placed 2nd and graded in 2nd class A to the very impressive and highly successfull Bjerregaards Sara. Jasmin's sister Clausholm Lady Jacqueline by Telynau Souza was graded in the lot of older sec.B mares, and she was placed 1st and graded in 1st class.

Sunday is the "show day" so Jasmin and Jacqueline was placed second in their classes again after Bjerregårds Sara and the broodmare Bjerregårds Manon, respectively. Furthermore, Jasmin was reserve youngstock champion for the welsh ponies. Photos asap.

Dahlia Sold to Germany

After only 1 hour on website of the Danish Welsh Pony & Cob Society Dahlia was sold to Germany. Dahlia is by Supreme champion Ysselvliedts Special Edition out of our foundation mare Reekse Hoek Desi. She is sold to the Isarnho Stud of Mr Jochen Bromann in Northern Germany where she will be used as a broodmare and in harness. We wish the Isarnho Stud good luck, and we are looking forward following her in the future. You can follow her on the website: www.gestuet-isarnho.de. Photo: Leena Kahisaari.

Clausholm Lord Jackpot Sold

The sec.B colt Clausholm Lord Jackpot by Rhydspence Squire out of Clausholm Lady Jacqueline is sold to the Dahlsminde Stud. He will stay for the Summer together with his friend Clasholm Viking, and leave early in the Autumn. We wish the Dahlsminde Stud good luck with him, and we are lloking forward following him in the future. You can also follow him on the website www.dahlsminde.dk. Photo: Leena Kahisaari

Loads of Water....

The ponies' summer residence very close to the Limfjord was pretty flooded due to massive rain and wind this Wednesday evening. Initially, the ponies stayed on the island in the fjord, but later Lady Jill took the herd to the gate to go to the dry dige.

Showing in Sweden

Saturday the 16th of June we went to Lerum near Göteborg in Sweden to show the sec.Bs Clausholm Lady Jacqueline and Clausholm Lady Jasmine. Luckily, the rain stopped just as the show as Ms Lewis of the Cwrtycadno Stud started to judge. Lady Jacqueline was first in the ring and finished as 2nd in a nice class with a silver medal. Later Lady Jasmine was 3rd with a gold medal in a very strong class of 3-year-olds.

News about Stengaardens Dena

We just got a few photos of the first foal by our homebred stallion Clausholm Dutch Design out of Frisias Nathalie which we sold to Norway after Dena was weaned. Dena is now 5 years old, and the photos are from her first performance competition with Marie and Kathrine. We wish them much success in the future.

Last (Filly) Foal born

Having waited with patience for several days and nights our welsh mountain foundation broodmare Reekse Hoek Desi got a nice, big filly foal by Ysselvliedts Highflyer. She will probably turn grey as her sire. This is the last foal this year and the last foal at our place by the young stallion Ysselvliedts Highflyer.

Josie Got a Filly Foal

Having been watching the old mountain pony all night after the show it was quite surprising to see a new foal in the field as it was not expected before mid-June. A new smart filly foal was added to the group being palomino with a small blaze and socks. She is by our senior stallion Telynau Souza.

Two Titles Added at the Summershow on Funen

The Danish Welsh Pony & Cob Society held the first Summershow on the island Funen the first weekend of June. Approx. 50 ponies were entered split on all sections. We had entered the two-year-old colt Clausholm Lord Joker and the two-year-old filly Clausholm Vitara both by Rhydspence Squire. Unfortunately, the classes were merged so they ende up in the same class being 2nd and 3rd. Vitara was awarded the reverse youngstock championship for sec.B and Lord Joker got the reserve male championship for sec.B. Photos asap

Success at the Youngstock Show in the Northern Part of Jutland

The two-year-old sec. B filly Clausholm Vitara by Rhydspence Squire out of Kenwoods Virginia was entered for the show. She did a good job, though being very upset during the week because she had to leave her friends on the meadow, being 1st in her class with high scores.

Do you want to help us?

We are seeking a person to help on the farm (no other animals than the ponies) with various jobs concerning maintance of buildings, garden, farmwork in the fields, fencing, helping with the ponies etc. Driving license a necessity. Accomodation possible. Good salary. For more information please contact us by telephone: +4520238737 or email: alwj@mail.tele.dk

Second Foal

Second foal is born a nice, palomino filly foal by Dukeshill Magnum out of Clausholm Skylight by Ysselvliedts Special Edition. A very interesting foal as Skylight is the first foal by supreme champion Ysselvliedts Special Edition and then by the Royal Welsh Champion Dukeshill Magnum.

First Foal

The day after the Youngstock Show, Clausholm Duchess decided to get her first foal - a nice, big, bay filly foal with extravagant movement. This is our and the first foal by Ysselvliedt Highflyer (Vechtzichts Hywel out of Sprinbourne Heyday) which we kindly leased from the Ysselvliedt Stud last year.

Success at Youngstock Show

Clausholm Lord Joker (Photo: Team AD-Editon)

Finally, the first show is held in relative short distance from our place. This Youngstock show on Funen had 75 entries of all pony breeds - the majority being welsh ponies og all sections. We had entered the 2-year-old colts Pendock Mantovani and Clausholm Lord Joker. Mantovani was in a class with two other colts which he won with a first premium with high scores. Joker had his own class, and he got a first premium with high scores.

Selection of Ponies Send to the Summer Residence

Again this year quite a few of the youngstock and mares will spend the majority of the Summer and Autumn on the meadow close to the Limfjord.

Viscountess home and for sale

Clausholm Viscountess is back home again after a visit to the Mirain Stud where was leased to. Unfortunately, she did get in foal and lost the foal again after approx. 3 months which she also did the year before. Is this a coinsidence or something with the hormones? We haven chosen to put her for sale as a future ridden champion.

Winter....

A mild Winter will hopefully end with the huge snow storm we have right now. Just take a look:

We hope the storm will settle so we can make some photos of the ponies in the snow with the new digital camera purchased in Amsterdam after the Dutch Stallion Show. At the Stallion Show quite a few welsh ponies (mainly welsh-part breds) were present. Focus was on a colt by our Telynau Souza who was a nice, well presented pony, but did not pass the second inspection. We could not resist trying the camera so a few shots are shown below.
